Kargopol district

Needlework

Kargopol district was located in the eastern part of the Olonets province. In terms of area, the district occupied 20473 km², including 623 km² under lakes. About 300 people were engaged in needlework in the district, of whom the shaposhniks were excellent. They went to Moscow and St. Petersburg and made hats there.
